Strip search to slavery
Does anyone know when the shift happened in this community? Was there ever a shift? Or do I just perceive one because I am new?

Re: Strip search to slavery
It started to happen back on the yahoo group 20+ years ago, and seems to have become the main theme.

Additionally, "shift" is when a shift occurs. When something changes gradually.

I think we should at least have a way of distinguishing or separating posts about the two topics. They're distinct enough that if people into strip searches but not slavery or hard BDSM feel like they can't avoid content like that they may just look elsewhere entirely.AQuietStorm wrote: Sat Apr 12, 2025 3:33 am Maybe we can influence it the other way. I second this: a possible first approach would be to have two instead of one "Member Stories" forum in the future. For example "Strip search stories" and "BDSM stories"?liftemknockers123 wrote: Fri Mar 27, 2026 11:24 amI think we should at least have a way of distinguishing or separating posts about the two topics. A second approach would be that our authors add more keywords at the beginning. There are adult websites with stories where this is mandatory or custom. Here at stripsearchfantasy it has been completely optional, each author may or may not add keywords or an abstract to the beginning of their stories.
The two adjustments could also work in conjunction, IMHO.

Re: Strip search to slavery
I like the second approach. F95zone implements this in my eyes very good, but not sure, if this is implementable with this Forum-Software. They offer the possibility to add fixed tags shown at the beginning of a thread title, which have a coloured background. There it's used for showing e.g. which game engine is used and one can already figure out from the colour, if one may be interested or not.automagix12 wrote: Sat Mar 28, 2026 7:59 amI second this: a possible first approach would be to have two instead of one "Member Stories" forum in the future. Re: Strip search to slavery
Ever since I started giving "established authors" their own sub-forums, I have been encouraging people to give a description of their work. My own sub-forum gives potential readers a clear introduction on what to expect. TBH, I think any regular contributor should do the same. If you want people to read your work, let them know what you do.automagix12 wrote: Sat Mar 28, 2026 7:59 amI second this: a possible first approach would be to have two instead of one "Member Stories" forum in the future. Personally I'm not into the slavery genre, but it fits within the forum guidelines and I don't want to tell people what to post. If others like your stories - fine. But its only fair to tell people up-front what your themes are.
I'm so old that I used to read actual, physical books. There was an accepted format: the front cover would have a title, the author's name, and maybe a picture that indicated what kind of story was inside, The back cover would have something called a "blurb" - giving a brief summary of the story. So you could tell within a minute if it was something you might actually want to invest time in reading.
WE NEED TO GO BACK TO THAT!
If you write slavery stories - that's OK, it fits in the general theme of this site. Many writers have complained about Literotica being impossible to deal with, and I want this site to be somewhere that budding authors can post their work without jumping through hoops.
BUT! (and this is a Kardashian-sized BUTT,) Be upfront about what you are writing! If you are slavery-themed, fine, just let people know in your forum description.
The Stripsearch genre has always been a niche element of adult fantasy, we are probably less than 1% of the total stories. I didn't create this forum just to post my own stories - (now down to a couple of stories a year because I'm old enough to be boring but still young enough that I have to work.) I pay for this site so that people with similar interests can post their creations, get some feedback, and hopefully go on to greater things. For that reason, I don't want to be a Soup Nazi about themes.
If you write about sexual slavery - fine. But TELL PEOPLE UPFRONT IN YOUR FORUM DESCRIPTION!
If you write Joe Doe style stories about stripsearches and spankings - fine. BUT TELL PEOPLE WHAT YOU WRITE!
So TBH, I don't think we need separate forums for stripsearch/slavery stories - each author with more than 3 stories already has their own sub-forum and they can GIVE A DESCRIPTION OF THEIR WORK!
It's not rocket science. Just be upfront about what your themes are. Personally I'd like to see more stripsearch stories, but like I said - I'm not going to tell people what they can post as long as it fits in the general theme.
I run this forum to give people a place to post their work. I really don't want to say "NO FORUM FOR YOU!"
If nobody writes stripsearch stories, there won't be any. I can't support a whole genre on my own. As long as people contribute, this site will stay up. If not - there's no point.
/Rant.
